Apocalypse is a cooperative base defense gamemode. In it, players must defend a base from infinite waves of enemies that scale with time.
Roles can be changed during the game at the base. Every time you change your role, you get the ability to return to the bunker once.
Icon | Name | Description | Weapon | Special Ability |
---|---|---|---|---|
Defender | Defend against the Horde with a Stoneburster | Stoneburster | ||
Builder | Mine stone and build defenses | Pickaxe | The builder can mine stone and place it to stall the enemies. | |
Ranger | Move fast & send out long range blasts with the Prickler | Prickler | ||
Tank | Deal heavy damage with the Twister, but move slower | Twister | ||
Healer | Collect crystals and deposit them at the vault to heal it up | None | The healer can use five crystals to heal the base 4% of its health. | |
The Crowd Control role needs to be purchased at Crimson Cruz. | ||||
Crowd Control | Damage multiple members of the Horde at once with the Timekeeper! | Timekeeper |
To the top left of the base Crimson Cruz can be found selling the following upgrades.
Forbidden Crystal can be crafted at a workbench towards the bottom right of the map, and requires 5 crystal and 10 dynamic stone.
Enemies do not attack players, but will instead target the vault, attempting to destroy anything in their way. The vault has 150 Health, and players will lose and the game will end if the vault is destroyed. All enemies have a chance at dropping 1 crystal when defeated.
Each wave, enemies will spawn over the course of 25 seconds. Every enemy has a power level, and enemies will spawn so until the max power level for that wave is reached. Additionally, enemies will have their health increased by a percentage dependent on the number of players (including the first) and the difficulty. See below for information on the max power level and health increase percentage for each difficulty.
Graveler Juniors don't spawn naturally- whenever a Graveler is defeated, 2-4 equal level Graveler Juniors are spawned. Graveler Juniors have the same skin as Gravelers, but will instead appear much smaller.

In the top right corner of the map near the ship is Dr. Synapse. Talking to him will give the dialog "Listen, I need help. There’s something seriously wrong, and I need to do something. But...I don’t know who to trust. Make it to Wave 40 without the base taking a single hit and then we can chat."
If this task is successfully completed he will give the following dialog lines and responses.
